Where She's Gonna Be
Words and music ©copyright 1986 by Robert Epler and Mark Horn
| Performed by White Coal. Recorded live at practice** circa November 1985 at 'The Rock Block' in Vancouver, Washington |
Well I was walkin' down the street, catchin' the sunshine in my eyes
Along comes a lovely lady, she gives me a surprise
Well such a strange situation, I don't believe what I see
I don't know where she came from, but I know where she's gonna be
Well the whole scene looks so shady, like she's got the whole thing planned
But she's such a lovely lady, I'm gonna play into her hands
'Cause it's a no-lose proposition, and it's just what this man needs
I don't know where she came from, but I know where she's gonna be
I don't know where she came from, but I know where she's gonna be
MIDDLE-8:
So we move a little closer, we're turnin' out the lights
We push it to the left and then we pull it to the right
We slip and then we slide, we're buildin' up some steam
She's askin' me to pinch her so she knows it's not a dream
Yesterday was cruel, tomorrow? I don't know
But today is getting better, no where else I'd rather go
Call it borderline prostitution, but it seems okay to me
I don't know where she came from, but I know where she's gonna be
I don't know where she came from, but I know where she's gonna be
-Solo-
-MIDDLE-8-
And if we live happily ever after, I'll know the reason why
Not that it really matters, I just want her by my side
It's the ultimate of solutions, and it came so naturally
I don't know where she came from, but I know where she's gonna be
I don't know where she came from, but I know where she's gonna be
I don't know where she came from, but I know where she's gonna be
** Instruments (drums - bass - guitar - keyboard) were recorded live on 4-track cassette at 9.5 ips.
These were then mixed down onto another cassette tape, reduced to a 2-channel stereo mix at 4.75 ips.
This 2nd cassette tape was then put back in the 4-track and, at 4.75 ips,.
the resulting extra 2 tracks were used for lead and background vocals, recorded a couple of weeks later.
What you hear is the resulting final mixdown onto a 3rd cassette tape!! (ta-da)
